Semaphore Beach
Wide, flat and family-friendly — one of Adelaide's safest swimming beaches. Calm Gulf waters make it popular year-round with swimmers, paddlers and beachside walkers.
Semaphore Jetty
A landmark since the 1800s, the jetty stretches 345 metres into the Gulf. Fishermen, sunset walkers and visitors come here year-round for the open Gulf views and sea breeze.
Art Deco foreshore
Semaphore is notable for its preserved early 20th century architecture. The Palais Hotel, the Town Hall and the foreshore buildings give the suburb a distinctive, unhurried character.
Gulf St Vincent coast
Adelaide's coastline along the Gulf is sheltered, shallow and swimmable for most of the year. Semaphore sits on the northern stretch — quieter than Glenelg, with a strong local community feel.
