Understanding and Treating Warts
Warts, plantar warts or verruca are a benign thickening of skin caused by human papillomavirus infection. They are often painful and most common in children and teenagers but can occur in all ages.
The weekly application of a painless cream containing a strong acid with debridement of the wart is often all that is required to eliminate warts. In persistent cases it is sometimes necessary to perform a simple procedure to excise the wart under local anaesthetic.
